When we find good tips or websites, we
list them here! Here is some great advice from the
government's Travel Security Administration (TSA)'s
website:
When traveling by air, arrive
at the airport early and be patient. Heavy
travel volume and the enhanced security process may mean
longer lines at security checkpoints.
Remember the 3-1-1 Rule for Carry-On Liquids:
3 oz. bottles or less; 1-quart zip clear plastic bag; 1
bag per passenger. Read the official rule
here.
Luggage locks:
Did you know? You are now permitted to place a
lock on your luggage when traveling inside the United
States IF your luggage lock meets certain TSA requirements.

Got time to
order your passport by mail? Visit the
official US government
Department of State website that deals with slower
renewals. Get all kinds of good information
including how, where & when to renew, pricing,
guidelines, how to check your renewal status online,
international travel warnings, health considerations,
etc. Updated regularly.
Are you
familiar with the WHTI (Western Hemisphere Travel
Initiative)? The Department of State
recommends that travelers apply now for travel documents
that will be required at all land or sea border entry
points as of June 1, 2009. On that date, under the
Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) U.S.
citizens will be required to present a
government-approved document that denotes both
citizenship and identity when entering the United
States. Other requirements of the WHTI, including
the official press release, can be found
here.
Really Cool Destinations
We have found some really cool
destinations over the years... check them out here
(please report broken links
here):
The Grand Canyon Skywalk: If this place
doesn't give you the creeps, we don't know what will!
This clear glass bridge is suspended 4000 feet over the
canyon, with a clear view straight down. Yikes!
Phoenix Seagaia Resort / Ocean Dome: - Located
in Japan, this is listed in the Guinness Book of World
Records as the world's largest indoor water park, where
the sky is always blue, the water is always warm and
it's eternally summer, year-round.
The World's Highest Tennis Court: Located
at the luxury
Burj-al-arab Hotel hotel in Dubai, this tennis court
(and the entire hotel) have to be seen to be believed.
This is their official website; cruise the web to find
more photos of the renowned tennis match there between
Andre Agassi and Roger Federer.
Heart-Pounding Thrills High Above the Las Vegas Strip
This
is NOT for the faint-at-heart. The
Stratosphere Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas offers
thrill rides atop their hotel that have to be seen to be
believed... atop the 1,149-foot-high Stratosphere Tower.
Check out the photos on their website... you won't
believe your eyes (do people REALLY get on those
things?)
Crescent-Hydropolis: The world's first
luxury underwater resort. Another
gotta-see-it-to-believe-it... for the very rich only,
we're afraid.
